Week 10:#23 is this really the end?

I liked image generator,RSS feed most.
I used computer for the first time for so long.
I learned how to set-up web pages,and blogs.
I learned to share photos and much more.
The fact that I learned computing so fast surprised me.
We can create a blog about any book which interestus.

Week 9: #22 downlaodable media

With the help of library's digital site we can download eAudio,ebooks,music and videos
24/7 to our PC at home, at work or anywhere around the world. For this one can use their
library card at HCPL digital media site.
The other sites like librivox and Wowio offers free e-books for downloading. when we compare the library site to other sites, it has lot to offer.
I found couple of books in which I will be interested in checking out are Antigua ,American regional cooking,and Amelia and the outlaw.

Week 8: #18 social networking: making friends in the comfort of your home

I explore the social networking site like Myspace,dogster and catster.com,and threadless.com
anyane can create web page with the help of internet and profiles, and photos too, with this
we can communicate with our friends by blogging and writing messaging.
we con keep in touch with some who lives far away.
Dog and cat lover can make friend with other dog and cats and create sites of their pet.
And the threadless is a T-shirt company people can take a look at the website and if they
like it can order it.
The main thing I like obout this site is people can keep in touch from halfway around the world.
you can create profile,do blogging,messaging and put photos.
The only thing I do not like is these thing are time consuming.

Week 7: #17 blog about technology

Technology has made life easy ,simple, and efficient.It may be technology that we
use at home like microwave, mp3 player. And the personal things like cellphone,car,
and other things we use daily. we have become so dependant on these thing that we
cannot live without it.If even one thing stops, our work stops.

Week 3: #7 photo editing tools

It was easy and fun to do. For this I uploaded a photo from my PC,and I used "pixer"
to edit photo.It was coloured photograph of my son riding a motorcycle, and I change it
to black and white.

week 3: #6 more flickr fun

I explored mashups and trip planner, I liked the trip planner more. I entered the place where
I want to go and it asked for start date and end date of the trip.And It gave me a list of places,
restaurant, and places to go for shopping.It is easy to plan trip with the help of trip planner.

Week 3: #5 discover flickr

I went to flickr website and created a flickr account.and then uploaded photos from PC and I edited the pictures,by giving tittle,description and tagging them.

Week 7: #16 so what's in wiki?

I went to ihcpl sandbox wiki and created an account. and also added to favourite
blog page on ihcpl wiki"I went to the restaurant."
I did not have time to look completelyand play with it

Week 6:#15 On library 2.0 and web 2.0

I have read two perspectives on library 2.0 that are about services and librarianship.
I would like to blog about "librarianship".
By using library 2.0 librarian can enhance their services,help in decisions to decide for library
material.It enhances new thinking in business.
we can learn from our failure and success and it will allow learn and play in their staff time.
"library 2.0 it's many thing to many people"means to me is it will upgrade the library services
to meet the user in their space.it provides so many tools to many customers.and it will bemore user centric and inviting

Week 8 :#19 web-based apps: they are not just for desktops

I created account in Zoho writer.I learned about tools it has to offer.It definitely has more feature than microsoft ,there is no doubt if it become more popular than it.

Week 4: #8 make life "really simple with RSS and newsreader

I did create a bloglines account and have added ten feeds to it.

week 9: #20 discovering youtube

I explored YouTube site and looked at two video.One was"Moo learning how to walk"
and other one was"My name is Lisa".I liked second one better, It is touching and kind
of real short video.
The thing I do not like about the site is that every body can make video and post it ,
It does not matter whether it is good to watch or not.

week 9 #21 podcasts

This was interesting and easy.I went to the website podcast.net and search for "Hindi music" and then I found the feed .And I add and subscribe to RSS feeds .Hopefully after such longtime
I will be hearing favorite tunes.I think it will be useful and convenient way to be keep yourself
updated to the thing which interests you.

week 6 #14 getting not so technical with Technorati

Firstly,I am not computer savvy person.what I discovered is when i did the search with the key-
-word "learning 2.0" it opened all the sites which has "learning" word on it.And I continued the search with tags, I found it opened all websites related to "learning 2.0".And when I went to blog directory with the same it opened the page with people blogging about "learning 2.0".

week 6 #13 tagging

I think it is a helpful tool to create a bookmark and for can be use in research thing too.
It shows the link other people have tagged,and link to popular links one has tagged.

week 5 # 12 The library Elf

I created a Elf account and register my card to look at the due date of returning items.
I am forgetfull person ,so It maybe a good thing for me atleast.

5 week # 11 library thing

First we have to select five books and add to the catalog and then create a link .This was the easy thing to do,and this way we can keep track.

week 2: #4 online safety and sharing

I think online sharing is not 100% safe. even though they have privacy policies to protect the information, it leaks.I am not so comfortable in sharing my private life .

week 5:#10 play around image generators

I went to avatars.yahoo.com and created an image what, I like to be.
I thoroughly enjoyed this process.I choose Indian outfit because I think it is graceful.And in background I preferred Taj mahal.The link to my image is http://avatars.yahoo.com

week 4 #9 finding feeds

I went to 200 popular RSS feeds website to subscribe ten most important feeds that interests me. Now I can look up to the Quotes of the day,itunes top 25 popular songs and learn the word of the day.this is fast way to keep yourself updated

My First Blog

Hi,

I am Tanu. I joined HCPL - Bear Creek almost three months back. Everyone in library is cooperative, and I like working here. We get opportunity to learn and meet dynamic personalities.
A little about myself- I am married and blessed with one son. We use to read, but after becoming the part of this family, we are reading a lot more!
